Rural Development:

The Sevashrama is serving the Population around the Mathura and Vrindavan through its Charitable hospital, many patients come from Far & distant places like Palwal, Noida and Koshi etc. The Sevashrama is operating some Programs to provide Medical service the Rural population to their doorsteps those includes

Pallymangal: A team comprising 8 doctors, 2 nurses, 1 attendant and 6 volunteers continue to provide medical services in the rural areas of Mathura District four days a week. Regular Eye Camps are also conducted. All the patients are given 6 days medicines free of cost. The total number of patients treated was 46,162 in the year 2019-20. The Mobile Medical Vans used for this service are donated by Blind Foundation for India, USA and IOCL, Mathura.

ViMS Outreach: In association with Tata Trusts, Mumbai, the Sevashrama Hospital has initiated a health outreach program in March, 2018 with the objective of providing primary healthcare, detect non-communicable diseases (hypertension, cancer and diabetes) and provide treatment for the same. Under this project two fully equipped mobile medical units visit various villages covering the entire Mathura District. Under this unit 53,952 no. of patients were treated this year.

In addition to this 9Telemedicine Units (TMUs) are established in nine blocks of Mathura district and 2 Telemedicine Units in the Hospital working as Hubs. Doctors provide Consultation to the patients and provide primary health care from Hubs via Internet and the prescribed medicines are also provided free of cost. Under this unit 52,211 patients were treated this year.

Eye Camp and Child Eye Sight Project: RKMS, Vrindavan is conducting regular Eye Screening and treatment camps. This year, Eye screening camps were held in different villages once in a week during winter. On an average 10 to 15 patients were brought for surgery from each camp to our charitable hospital in the vehicle provided by Blind Foundation for India, USA. In association with the Blind Foundation for India (BFI), USA eye screening and treatment camps were held at 24 schools in the villages of Mathura district with the help of the vehicle provided by them. In all 5,820 children were examined; free medicines and eye drops were given to 5,600 children and 148 spectacles were also distributed.

Evening OPD at old campus: The premises of the Old Ashrama at Panighat are being utilised for operating a Homeopathic OPD in the evening for the benefit of the poor living in and around Panighat. During the year 2019-20 total 1,477 patients were treated at the evening OPD. All the patients were given free medicines for 6 days a week.
