Free Distribution of Medicines for the poor & needy patients of rural/remote areas of Vrindavan & Mathura district.

The Ramakrishna Order has multifarious philanthropic activities in various fields like Education, Medical, Cultural, and Spiritual.

A branch centre of the Headquarter BELUR MATH was opened at Vrindaban, a great pilgrim centre in Uttar Pradesh, 107 Years back in 1907 with the name ‘Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama’. The Sevashrama was started with the aim of rendering selfless Medical Service to the poor, needy patients and pilgrims of this region in a spirit as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda - "Serve God in Man".

A full fledged 165 bedded Charitable Hospital is rendering Medical Services to the under privileged people. Besides the Hospital, we also conduct Mobile Dispensary in remote villages, Free Eye and Dental Camps, Community Health Programme, General Relief and Welfare Projects like Free Food distribution to poor widow mothers, Four FREE Coaching centres for slum students and a free School of Nursing for poor and meritorious girl students. The Nurses duly passing out from this School find employment in prestigious hospitals across the globe.

In our charitable hospital rural village people, poor and distressed receive solace and support through our activities. Almost all the medical services are free.

The general ward patients are provided with bed, diet, milk, almost all the medicines, doctors' & sisters' services at free of cost. The private ward patients are also offered the same services except the medicines and nominal room charge.

All the patients treated in OPD (Out Patient Dept.) and in the rural areas (through Mobile Dispensary –Pallimangal) receive 3 days and 6 days medicines free of cost, respectively. A perusal of our annual report will reveal to you that during the year we have spent Rs.1.5 Cr towards distribution of free medicines to the poor and the needy.

A special Diabetic cell is opened in our charitable hospital to treat children as well adult patients who suffer from Diabetes. All the diabetic patients are given medicines free of charge. We spend Rs 8 Lakh per annum on diabetic patients.  We have two nurses appointed to teach/educate the diabetic patients how to change life style/diet etc. Swami Daymurtyananda ji Maharaj (MD Medicine) of our Sevashrama takes special care of the diabetic patients. He is guided / helped by the Dr Santosh Gupta of Washington School of Medicine, USA.

All our activities and services are dependent exclusively upon the generous charity.
